I am pleased to announce that a poem written during my Creative Writing MA will be published in the next issue of Structo!
Structo was one of the first literary magazines I picked up, and I instantly fell in love with its simplistic yet striking front cover, layout, and general aesthetic (I was also particularly drawn in by the promise of an interview with Daniel Handler/Mr. Unfortunate Events himself).
Due to COVID, I am uncertain as to when this issue is due for release, but you can bet this blog will be updated when it is!
About the Poem
‘Croeso’ is an exploration of my growing up in North Wales after being uprooted from my South England heritage. It describes the initial, irrational hatred I felt towards the dreary seaside town, and how through language I came to accept it as home.
